Rare and hard to find high chair designed by Jan de Jong for Pauluskerk Uden, The Netherlands, 1966. This striking high chair embodies the architectural clarity and formal rigor that define Bossche School design. Made from pine wood and finished in a rich orange brown stain, the surface has developed a warm, natural glow over time. The finish is completely original and untouched, carrying subtle traces of use that contribute to its authentic patina. The sharply defined angles of the seat and backrest give the chair an almost sculptural quality, while the precisely aligned iron nails emphasize its geometric rhythm. The tall backrest creates a strong vertical presence that echoes the proportions of the architectural spaces it once inhabited. Although modest in material, the chair has a monumental quality, expressing structure and proportion in their purest form. Its characteristic silhouette makes it one of the most recognizable designs of the Bossche School. This piece originates from the Pauluskerk in Uden, one of Jan de Jong’s key projects. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
