Framed in Baroque scroll details, including cherubs supporting the image on either side, the angel sits above the water well, also adorned with playful cherubs. The back has a ring attached for mounting, which traditionally would be placed by a home’s main entrance so that those arriving and leaving could also be blessed with safe passage. This piece comes from Toledo Spain, from a home steps away from the Santo Tomé Chapel, best known for its connection to El Greco. See less
