This pair of aqua blue-green glass apothecary bottles each have a unique graphic label that provides a specific age, provenance, and character. Paired together for their matching color, they are from similar times but different areas of the country, Kentucky and Illinois. Together, they make a storied pair of American medical glass artifacts.
The large, two-liter Chloroform bottle is marked 'Poison' with the telling scull and crossbones above an antidote for ingestion that includes laudanum. It was produced and sold by Mc Adams & Morford, Wholesale Druggists, Lexington, KY. It maintains its original cork. The McAdams and Morford Building in Lexington, Kentucky (aka the Melodeon Hall) is a 3-story commercial building constructed in 1849, dating this bottle from the mid to late 19th century.
The smaller, half-pint-sized bottle is an early American snake oil cure of Hamlins Wizard Oil from Chicago, dating late 19th - early 20th century.

The small bottle shows some discoloration inside the neck, suggesting it might have been found underground and dug up. It does have a small, thin, upside-down 'u' shaped scratch front and center. The paper on the large bottle shows discoloration typical of its age and is lifting slightly at the corners. It shows some faint, foggy smears inside the glass that are probably removable with the right brush. less
