The Skinny
There’s something about a good glaze that stops you mid-scroll—and this one absolutely does. A soft gradient of stormy blue into smoky gray, with a foamy white “wave break” that feels like sea spray frozen in time. Just under 5” tall with a 3.25” opening, it’s the perfect little workhorse: bud vase, utensil cup, paintbrush holder, or a simple catchall that looks intentional anywhere you put it.
More Details
This is a handmade, wheel-thrown studio pottery cylinder with a coastal/ocean-inspired glaze—a layered blue-to-slate field with a dramatic white crystalline break that reads like surf rolling in. It’s artist-signed on the base (mark shown in photos), but the signature is not currently identified, so it’s best described as signed studio work. Measures just under 5” tall and approximately 3.25” across.
In very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks noted. Light, normal surface/handling wear consistent with studio pottery, and subtle kiln/handmade variations are part of the charm.
Style: Studio pottery, coastal modern, organic modern, wabi-sabi
Material: Glazed stoneware
Origin: Unknown studio (artist-signed)
How to use it
