Beautiful antique Andean textile, alpaca wool manta or also a aguayo cloth from Peru.
Vibrant colors are hand-loomed using traditional techniques passed down through generations. This textile features intricate, reversible designs depicting animals, llama, horse, donkey, along with geometric motifs. Textiles like these are historically significant to the native Quechua people and are used for both daily wear and ceremonial purposes.
Purchased long ago traveling South America 1970-1980 and stored since, purchased as is. Pictures show you each and every angle, no hidden damages. A section has separation of some weaving, noted in pictures.
