Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, these cabinets have an all over distressed finish including a few nicks, dings, & rust that we purposely left alone as we appreciate the worn vintage look. That’s NINE pieces TOTAL!! These marvelous modular horizontal units are also known as sectional or barrister cabinets and they are RIDICULOUSLY versatile!!! Endless functional stacking possibilities including optional positions as we have photographed them… A stack of 3 on one base and 2 on another… or a stack of 4 sections on one base and a single section on the other. Globe-Wernicke was founded in 1893 by Otto Werkicke. They specialized in office furniture & specialized in the design & manufacture military equipment. The company was best known for their patented “elastic bookcases” also known as modular or barrister bookcases. High quality stacking shelves that could be arranged by the insertion of units of different depths & heights. During World War II over 90 percent of the business converted to the production of military equipment & in 1963 Globe-Wernicke was acquired by Weis Manufacturing Company & the name changed to Globe-Weis Systems Company. In 1987 Globe-Weis was purchased & the name changed again to ATAPCO Office Products Group & was last known to have merged again in 2000 with Cardinal Brands, Inc of Lawrence, Kansas.
