This is Really is an Outstanding & Beautiful Example of Antique Wood Relic - Fragment that Would Have Been Removed … Read more This is Really is an Outstanding & Beautiful Example of Antique Wood Relic - Fragment that Would Have Been Removed from a Italian - Sicilian Donkey Cart. NOTE Also It is Quite Rare Because it is a Complete Panel Removed from its Original Cart!. Very Desirable Subject Matter - Scene Depicts a Water Fountain, Donkey & Cart with 3 Men Vendors Etc. Note Also that Both Ends Depict Classic Roman Soldiers. The Carved Wood Fragment itself Dates Back to the Mid to 19th Century. NOTE that has September 1943 Souvenir Io Sicily Information on he Front as Well Presentation and Other Information on the Back Side. These Cart Fragments - Relics Have Been Sold as "Grand Tour" Italian Souvenirs Since the Early 19th Century. It is Completely Hand Carved out of One Solid Piece of Hardwood and it Still Retains its All Original Polychrome Hand Painted - Decorated Features ( Both Sides - Front and Back.). It is in Excellent All Original Condition. The Original Paint has Developed a Wonderful Naturally Aged Patina & Colors - Displays Beautifully!. That Paint has These type of Donkey Carts are Synonymous with Sicily as they have Been Used for Centuries. Really Does have a Wonderful Authentic Old Look.
