This rare vintage poster for the Bourgogne Regional Council was designed by the iconic poster and graphic designer Bernard Villemot. Best known for his collaborations with Bally, Air France, Orangina, and Perrier, he is known as one of the greatest commercial artists of the 20th century. Printed in 1984 by IPA. Champigny S.M., this is a New Wave style French travel poster for Burgundy, France. In this striking poster, the timeless elegance of Burgundy meets the dynamism of modernity. The work boldly proclaims the region's motto: "A tradition of progress ," blending past and future in a unified and vibrant landscape. In Villemot's brilliantly stylized composition the vibrant hills of Burgundy unfold in blocks of color, their abstract patchwork contrasting with the sleek TGV train- a juxtaposition of ancient motifs and the speed of progress. ‘This poster is not just a simple tourist or regional promotion; it's a visual manifesto.’
