Authentic Q’ero Mastana ritual cloth. This hand-woven Andean textile was used for spiritual and practical purposes, primarily as an altar cloth for a shaman’s “mesa”.
These cloths were made by Q’ero people, who are descendants of the Inca living high in the Peruvian Andes. They are typically made from natural alpaca or sheep’s wool using traditional blackstrap or four-stake looms and centuries-old weaving techniques.
Used to wrap medicine stones to concentrate energy, serve as a grounding cloth for sacred altars, or mesas, during ceremonies, cocoa leaf divination, and used in a ceremony called despacho.
Purchased 1970-1980’s while traveling Peru, along with several textiles, and stored since. Pictures show you each and every angle, no hidden damages.
