Original February 5, 1938 New Yorker magazine cover featuring a "Skiing on the Subway" theme by Peter Arno (1904-1968). Arno was one of the original New Yorker cover artists and cartoonists. Rare cover.
This is an original New Yorker cover and in excellent condition – not a reproduction.
Cover is displayed in a conservation mat in a black metal frame under ultraviolet conservation glass (rated to block 99+% of the light striking the glass surface). Mat is talc-colored (off-white) with a slight texture and black bevel to complement the metal frame. Image: 8"W x 11"H; overall: 14"W x 17"H.
