While single cat headrests of this style and period exist, this double-headed version is extremely rare. We love the graphic, oversized, and evenly spaced 'spots' across its back that lend a modern design element, counterbalancing the age and antiquity of this very unusual and storied statement piece. There is some loss to the glaze here and there, most noticeably under one chin and along the edge of the base besides the feet. One of the faces has some discoloration that looks like a faint paint smear underneath the glaze. There are several pinpoint-sized dots behind one ear, and a green dot on one side of the torso. There are thin cracks in the glaze at the base of the ears and along the side of the cheeks. less
