Vintage Henriot Quimper Faience Hand-Painted Plates - Set of 3
Add a touch of Breton heritage to your home with this delightful set of hand-painted faience plates from the renowned Henriot factory in Quimper, France. This curated set features the iconic "Petit Breton" figure in traditional regional costume, accompanied by two coordinating plates adorned with stylized floral sprigs.
Each piece is finished with the signature Quimper saffron-yellow border and cobalt-blue horizontal banding. These are the versatile "small" size (Form F.176), ideal for use as bread and butter plates, appetizer service, or as a striking wall-mounted decorative display.
Origin: Quimper, France.
Manufacturer: Henriot Quimper.
Period: Circa 1968–1983 (identified by the "Entièrement décoré main" backstamp).
Dimensions: 6 inches in diameter.
Materials: Hand-painted tin-glazed earthenware (Faience).
Markings: Fully hallmarked on the reverse with form number F.176, décor D.118, and individual artist initials (MM, RH, GB).
Condition:
Very Good Vintage Condition. These pieces have been well-preserved with a high-gloss glaze. Consistent with authentic hand-crafted pottery, there are minor original kiln pinholes and slight glaze irregularities from the firing process. One plate shows a minuscule glaze "fleabite" on the outer rim. No structural cracks or large chips; minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rims on the reverse.
This set offers a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of French artisanal history that remains as vibrant and charming today as when it was first painted.
