1956 movie was based on the novel, ‘Giant,’ by author Edna Ferber, and was directed by George Stevens, and starred Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean. Giant received 10 Academy Award Nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor (both Hudson & Dean), Best Supporting Actress and won Best Director for Stevens.
