The camel is in a … Read more Vintage; C. 1960's ,Cement foundry molded formed Saharan Dessert camel in reposed and/or sitting position. The camel is in a neutral, off-white to cream finish coloration, with black minute splatter spotting throughout the piece, indicative to the era. The camel has it's blanket and saddle; with detailed rope and tassel design motif, and on it's back ready for a Bedouin trip, and/or tourist traveler's, perhaps en routed to the Egyptian Pyramid's but surely a gorgeous distinction and animal to be reckoned with. Regal, large and somehow a throwback toward's a different mode of transport in different areas of the world. He or She is surely a perfect foil for any interior setting, be it an entry foyer, an office/den or library, including prominence within a bookshelf, family room area, or upon a sofa table console, limitless possibilities, but for sure it is clearly a solid and heavy decorative piece, and even sculptural in it's domain. Original brown felted protective barrier to the underside. From a Stuart, Fl. Estate. Excellent condition, given th era of manufacture, with minute or minor nuances of usage, most likely movement to and fro upon any display diorama.
