A handsome pair of French Louis XV–style bergère armchairs, featuring sculpted walnut frames with softly carved cabriole legs, shaped arms, and serpentine crest rails. The generous bergère form offers deep, relaxed seating with feather down cushions. These chairs retain their earlier upholstered fabric, decorated with a repeating floral motif on a pale ground. Over time, the upholstery has mellowed to a soft, evenly faded tone, giving the pair a relaxed, lived-in character that complements the warm patina of the wood frames. The fabric remains structurally strong and serviceable, making these suitable for continued use or an excellent foundation for reupholstery.
