Circa 1680 Belgian mythological scene & armorial tapestry. Design, form, workmanship & colors inform date & origin. Elegant scene of Apollo, the sun god, and archery. He has loosed an arrow from his golden bow and shot a figure in the heart. A raven is above him, one of his bird assistants. The decorative & armorial borders may lead to a known set, but we have yet to uncover it - most likely from a French aristocratic family chateau.
