Set of 6 original antique Butterfly prints published in England in the 1870s. Each print is a hand colored engraving and measures 4.5 x 7 inches. From a folio describing the "history of a butterfly through all its changes and transformations". Names of the Butterflies are shown on the base of the print.
Butterflies shown on the prints:
Top Row (L to R): Fritillary; Fritillary; Hairstreak, Copper and Blue
Bottom Row (L to R): Swallow-tail and White; Argus, Admiral and Peacock; Tortoise-shell and Emperor
These are original antique Butterfly prints - not reproductions. They are in excellent condition . Each engraving is carefully packaged in an archival plastic sleeve with backing board, and shipped in a cardboard flat mailer with cardboard insert. Includes a certificate with additional information.
