This is the early, … Read more A rare arc floor lamp with a clamping arm by the renowned lighting designer Florian Schulz. This is the early, original version with a push-button switch instead of a dimmer and a more rudimentary suspension of the arc at a single point.

An imposing design that impresses not only with its dimensions but also with its understated elegance and high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The large reflector shade is shaped like a hemisphere and sits at the end of a long, arcing arm. The dome of the shade is split, creating a large opening. This allows for the unique lighting effect of this floor lamp. In addition to the direct downward light, indirect ambient light also shines through the upper opening. The high-quality workmanship is further evident in the folded edge of the lower part of the shade. The shade is mounted on several joints, allowing it to rotate around the arm and on its own axis. A cylinder penetrates the shade, with the socket located at its inner end and a black button at its outer end. The lamp is operated via this push-button switch. The tension rod is composed of several elements, has a spring at the bottom, and end caps at both ends. The curved element is connected to the tension rod by a sleeve. This allows the curved element to slide up and down the rod and rotate around it. The cable is routed invisibly within the curved element to the shade and exits below it.

The current maximum height of 250 cm can be extended to a certain extent for higher ceilings. Suitable extension pieces can be reproduced by the original manufacturer.

The light fixture is in very good condition with signs of use and a wonderful patina. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
