Realized by … Read more Copper jug is an original decorative object realized in the first years of the 20th century. Original copper. Realized by Henry Loveridge & Co., Wolverhampton. Made in England. Very good conditions. Beautiful burning copper metal jug with a bulbous body and a central ridge with a cylindrical neck with an oblique mouth and a C-shaped handle on one side. The work has been realized by Henry Loveridge & Co., Wolverhampton. The originators of this firm were William Shoolbred and Henry Loveridge. He began his business life as a retail tailor in Dudley Street, in partnership with his brother Robert. We find Mr. Shoolbread joined Edward Perry as a partner in the Japan trade in Paul Street. Here Mr. Shoolbread remained for some years, taking an active part with Perry, until an opportunity occurred of which he promptly took advantage. Edward Perry was a well established japanner and Shoolbred must have learnt the trade while he was with Perry. In 1903 It became a joint stock company; later went in for brass and copperware. By 1920 their products were advertised in the order of: brass, copper, iron and japanned wares. In 1927 the business closed. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
