A striking 1967 stonecut engraving by legendary Inuit artist Pitseolak Ashoona (1904-1983), depicting traditional walrus butchering on the ice floe in bold black lines and rich navy blue.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Pitseolak Ashoona is one of the most celebrated Canadian Inuit artists, elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (1974) and named to the Order of Canada (1977).
