A stunning Antique Italian Giltwood Cane Settee, beautifully carved and finished in original gold leaf with traces of red bole peeking through - a hallmark of authentic old-world gilding. The frame features elegant Louis XVI-inspired lines, fluted legs, acanthus carving, and a gently serpentine silhouette that floats beautifully in a room.
The settee retains its handwoven cane back and sides, all in very good condition with no breaks. The original gilding has aged naturally, revealing warm red undertones that designers love and that confirm the piece has not been over-restored. Finished with a thick custom seat cushion in a modern designer fabric (included).
