Etching and aquatint on wove paper. Hand signed and numbered in pencil. Edition of 100. Very good condition. A poetic and whimsically surreal composition by Enrico Benaglia, this finely executed etching stages a dreamlike encounter between time and identity. In a softly textured ochre landscape, a clock-faced figure—complete with harlequin-patterned legs and elegant shoes—stands before a tall oval mirror. Within its reflection, the figure’s face transforms into exposed clockwork, suggesting an intimate unveiling of the mechanisms that lie beneath the surface of human existence. Benaglia’s delicate line, muted earth palette, and unmistakable sense of narrative fantasy imbue the scene with quiet humor and metaphysical resonance. The work reflects the artist’s enduring fascination with memory, imagination, and the subtle theater of everyday objects brought to life. Printed in a limited edition of 100 impressions, this etching is a refined and highly collectible example of Benaglia’s surrealist lyricism and his celebrated ability to blend the ordinary with the wondrous. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
