Fresh from a New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this Antique American BERKEY & GAY … Read more Fresh from a New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this Antique American BERKEY & GAY Georgian & Adams Style Painted Silver Chest / Cabinet on Stand. Gorgeous from every angle, it features a large double door storage cabinet on the top, with heavily carved sideboard / console style base. American made in early 20th century, Constructed of solid rich, healthy vivid color walnut, with fine satinwood added for contrast. The pair of doors have Adams style paintings of hanging flowers / roses, bordered in with green, appearing as a framed paintings. Doors have a large reticulated bronze plate in the center serving as a lock (with a key). Hinges on the sides match the center mount, made in Jacobean / Renaissance Revival Style. Inside are two shelves (+ bottom = 3 total). Base is amazing in it's own right, a single drawer runs the width of the top, has a "Greek Key" style molding going across the middle, with a pair of original bronze lion head pull handles. Below it is a large carving, matching the cartouche on the top. Curved legs end in scroll form carvings. Very good condition, minimal age / use wear (please see photos). Large and impressive cabinet 77" height, 44" widest point at the knees, and it is 19" deep front to back. See less
