A striking and historic collection of English antique and mid-century decorative wall plates. 11 plates and bowls in total complete this collection.
Anchoring the center of this design is an oversized 15” x 12" Blue Willow platter by E.B. & J.E.L. (England) in the late 19th to early 20th century. This piece features the full traditional Willow pattern—pagodas, bridge figures, boat, and the iconic pair of doves—rendered in a deep, saturated cobalt blue with crisp transfer detail.
The generous scale makes it a standout for display: perfect as a wall centerpiece. The platter retains a glossy glaze, has no chip or cracks and the border is well defined.
A timeless decorative piece with historical significance.
The top middle plate is by Royal Wessex, followed by a blue and white plate by Steventon & Sons, Burslem. Two Steventon & Sons plates are included in this collection. They date back to the 1920's.
Next is a Sutherland Art China Imari style saucer. Coaching Scenes by Johnson Brothers follows, then a Johnson Brothers Coaching Scenes Bowl.
The bottom middle plate is a turn of the century antique English plate. The crest-like mark in the makers mark is blurry but typical of the period. Crest/Shield Design: Common in Victorian and Edwardian pottery marks. Possibly Gordon & Sons or Shore & Coggins.
