Erté's works are iconic Art Deco images that still influence fashion and art trends today. They are chic, elegant, sophisticated and highly recognizable worldwide. Erté worked for Paul Poiret in his early career. He later designed more than 200 covers for Harper’s Bazaar magazine and worked extensively for Vogue. He designed theater programs and sets for the Ziegfeld Follies.

This original French vintage Art Deco lithograph originally appeared in a 1926 French magazine. It was an illustration for a story about the mysterious allure of gemstones. It is NOT a modern day reproduction. Entitled "le Choix d'un Couer", it speaks to "The Choices of the Heart". Erte saw feminine beauty as personal and a reflection of the poetry of nature. Whether it's the brillance of diamonds, the passion of rubies, the subtlety of pearls, the sparkle of emeralds...it's the choice of the female heart.
