In oak with pegged mortise and tenon joints. Originally used for linens and clothing with interior box for finer goods. Lovely piece that makes a statement. Hand wrought fittings and original lock.

Obtained in Europe in the 1960's by Academy Award Winner Elmo Williams and his wife Lorraine. Probably Spanish.

This chest has condition issues due to its age: There are marks on the top and old scratches on the sides. There are small missing pieces and repairs at the ends of the lid. The bottom of the chest has two replacement panels, the cleats on the inside of the lid are vintage replacements.
