To the Manor Born Elegant Chairs! West
-if chairs were socialites, here they are! High style Highly Detailed 19th century set of four Regency Klismos style French polished mahogany chairs. We have not seen a more beautifully detailed refined set of chairs of this style. Distinctive gold leaf floral medallion carvings are centered on crescent-shape slat elements forming an 'X' shape back support. Gilt wood rosettes adorn the apron plinths above the front legs. Can mix beautifully with a contemporary or classic interior for a sophisticated touch of warmth and history, complete with provenance and bragging rights! The slip seats are covered in green and white brocade in very good condition. Provenance, Assembled from our former Maryland estate, the Edith Hale Harkness estate-The Harkness Family was Among America's First Society Philanthropic Families as financiers to Rockefeller & Flagler for Standard Oil.
