Born in Geneva Switzerland, Christiane completed her studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs … Read more Born in Geneva Switzerland, Christiane completed her studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs receiving a diploma in ceramics before moving to Italy. She has since lived in Castiglion Alberti, situated in the Tuscan countryside on a hilltop surrounded by woods of oak trees and groves of centuries-old olive trees. Her studio occupies the entire ground floor of what was once a medieval rectory and which today is her home.

For over forty years she uses high-temperature ceramic glazes. The extreme particularity of bonding the richly saturated colors to each hand-shaped piece is a risky undertaking yet Christiane manages to strike a perfect balance between lightness and stability for each of these unique pieces that she shapes by hand.

These are two of her classic forms- modern in a Japanese, Danish mid century style.
