The mother-of-pearl is … Read more Antique late 19th–early 20th century opera glasses with genuine mother-of-pearl barrels and an engraved silver-plated metal frame. The mother-of-pearl is fully intact and displays lovely natural iridescence. The central focus wheel turns smoothly, and the piece remains structurally sound.

Condition reflects age and use: one eyepiece lens has a hole/damage, and there are visible dents to the metal at the objective end (see photos). Due to the lens damage, these opera glasses are offered primarily as a decorative or collectible object rather than for optical use. Age-appropriate patina throughout.

Unmarked, as is common for European examples of this period, likely produced in France, Germany, or Austria, circa 1890–1910. A beautiful decorative accent and conversation piece for a desk, library, or vignette.

Condition:
