Original color etching and aquatint titled Deux Oiseaux III (Two Birds III) by the pioneering German-French master printmaker Johnny Friedlaender (1912-1992).
Created in 1956, this piece marks an important transitional phase in Friedlaender's career. Moving away from naturalistic description, he constructed the birds using abstract geometry, symmetrical patterning, and delicate textures.
