Theses vases were not turned on a lathe as you can tell by the shape of the tops and bottoms.(see pictures 4 & 10) They were rounded by hand and scooped out by hand and the detailed leaves were carved by hand. When purchased from the original owner she told me she had got them in Yreka, California around the late 50’s from a Native American gentlemen who had made them in the mid 30’. She put the red felt on after purchasing them and thinks he signed the bottom of one of them. A wonderful addition to any folk art collection. See less
