Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, art works, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Yes Saint Laurent met and befriended Andy Warhol in 1968. Warhol stayed in Paris for two weeks while he was filming " L'Amour " in 1970 and spent a lot of time with the couturier, whom he considered to be " the most important French artist ". Warhol and Saint Laurent, who were both shy, shared many similarities beginning with their respective roles in changing the fashion and values of their time. In 1972, Warhol painted a series of portraits of Saint Laurent. He later created portraits of the couturier's bulldog Moujik in 1986.
