Contemporary Birch Frame: 17.25 x 13.25 x 1.5
Early 1950's oil on canvas board. Wonderful Impressionist composition and texture. Vibrant royal and cornflower blue, sienna and soft black, with pops of ivory and orange. The signature is on the back of the canvas. This is a wonderful oil painting, both detailed and childlike. I have always been drawn to carnival and circus pieces. Somehow I feel the artist is giving a nod to Toulouse-Lautrec which makes me love this one even more.
