The exterior displays … Read more 19th century German mahogany secretary or "bureau" in the Biedermeier style, featuring refined proportions and architectural details. The exterior displays two full turned columns framing the upper section, creating a stately and balanced appearance. The desktop opens with a functioning key and locks securely, resting on hinges while revealing multiple interior drawers and storage areas. Four lower drawers open using the key as a pull only. The secretary rests on a substantial base and shows typical age-related separation, cracks, and minor nicks along edges, particularly where the desktop rests. Age-related separation and old repairs are visible along the sides. Minor old wormhole activity is noted on the back. This sophisticated secretary has been restored, is strong, stable, and ready for use, offering both functionality and classic elegance.
