Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai tianqiuping vase, a band of double red lines above a Ru Yi border is just … Read more Chinese porcelain Da Ya Zhai tianqiuping vase, a band of double red lines above a Ru Yi border is just below the lip, an imperial yellow glaze with small pattern iron wire craquelure covers the body and a turquoise glaze with small pattern iron wire craquelure covers the interior and the inset base. A red and white vertical Da Ya Zhai mark in a square cartouche is glazed to the side of the neck and an oval red and white Tian Di Yi Jia Chun cartouche is glazed above the waist. The body and neck of the vase are covered in finely drawn grisaille frolicking birds amid branching pink plum blossoms. An ornate polychrome band of Ru Yi lappets is glazed above the extended foot, which is decorated with a band floral medallions. A red and white four character Yong Qing Chan Chun reign mark is glazed to the inset turquoise base. Circa early 20th century no later than mid century.

The finely carved traditional Chinese hongmu circular stand is included.
Height with stand is 17 1/4" high. Stand is 2 1/2" high x 7 1/2" diameter.

The mark Dayazhai (Studio of the Greater Odes) has been associated with the Dowager Empress Cixi. See less
