Object: Ucellatore con la Civetta 1646 from Series: Le Arti di Bologna (The occupations of the Bolognese)
Well framed.
Etcher, son of the sculptor of the same name. Born in Paris, sent by his father to Rome to train under Algardi as a sculptor, but soon turned to etching. Etched series of 'Cries of Bologna' (IFF 3 to 83, whole series bound in 164.b.22) and of the 'Life of San Diego' (IFF 84-104), both after Annibale Carracci, in 1646.
