The back features a painted landscape scene with mountains, a farmhouse, and blossoming branches.

Dimensions: height 49 cm, width 72.5 cm, depth 39 cm.

Inside are three Ichimatsu figures. On the left stands a figure in a dark blue kimono with floral motifs, holding the rope of the flower cart. In the centre stands a girl in a vibrant orange kimono with a temari ball. On the right stands a girl in an orange kimono with long black hair, holding a bouquet. At the front is a gold-toned flower cart with decorative flowers, and a wooden name plaque inscribed 花車 (Hanaguruma, “Flower Cart”); below is a small signature with 作 (“made by …”) and a red seal.

Traditionally, such March displays were set up for the seasonal festival around 3 March (Hinamatsuri) as a festive household altar symbolising good fortune, health, and protection. Today, it works above all as a highly decorative display case piece that instantly brings colour and atmosphere.

Condition is good: the dolls, textiles, and décor have been well preserved. There is minor damage to the wooden frame at the lower left, barely noticeable when the piece is displayed. See less
