The top decorated in the Vernis Martin taste with hand painted cherubs with cupids arrows amidst clouds, featuring a heart shaped reticulated brass gallery rail, the front with rococo embossed escutcheons and floral garland festoons with blue bow knots above a shaped skirt, ormolou mounts on the corners and sabots on the feet of the cabriole legs. The bombe sides painted with doves, mandolins and other musical instruments, as well as flowers and quivers and torches. The back is finished but not painted, so it can freestand in the middle of a room or in between a pair of chairs. See less
