Hoof Box with Metal Fittings 19th Century. Not certain as we've not seen one of these before. MY best thought on this is, that it would be a stamp box. Holder for the stamps, wet sponge box to wet the stamps. It is one of the most unusual pieces I've seen. All custom. Extremely well done. Great conversation piece.
