Vintage Curras Brothers Hand-painted Pottery Charger, Signed, 5 Faces Available
Offered for sale is a vintage Ronald Curras and Nelson Curras (Cuban/American, b. 1939) art pottery charger, depicting a stylized female portrait. This is one of 5 different chargers that we offer in separate listings. The plate is dated 1993 and signed in the lower right. Each very large platter is set up to hang on the back. The twin Curras brothers fled Cuba in 1981 to come to America to create their pottery. Their work is reminiscent of ancient Greek ceramics, with dark, stark, highly-stylized figures painted over a lighter background.
