Fine & unusual continental (Probably Austrian or German) Biedermeier style faux bois rouge painted pine & parcel gilt cylinder roll top secretary desk with bookcase. This beautiful piece dates from 1825-1840, faux bois painted and fitted interior with pull out writing surface featuring 3 sliding compartments, interior holding multiple drawers. Shelved upper compartment concealed behind paneled double doors with parcel gilt decoration. Interesting scrolled crest with spherical finials flanking. Perfect in a gustavian, traditional, chinoiserie, or European interior.
Pulls to cylinder appear to be bone & are original! 2 separate cabinet parts for transport.
