A celebrated icon of postwar french design, the “togo” sofa by michel ducaroy, introduced by ligne roset in 1973, remains one of the most enduring and instantly recognizable seating designs of the twentieth century. Distinguished by its sculptural, low-slung form and expressive quilted “folds,” the model exemplifies ducaroy’s radical approach to comfort and modern living. Constructed entirely of multi-density foams without a rigid internal frame, the togo offers an exceptionally relaxed sit while maintaining its strong architectural presence. This example is upholstered in richly patinated leather, presenting a warm tone and desirable vintage character that enhances the design’s tactile, lounge-like appeal.
