An exuberant ca. 1830 ’s confection of carved acanthus scrolls, florets and C-scrolls, the frame “supported” by fanciful scroll “feet.” … Read more An exuberant ca. 1830 ’s confection of carved acanthus scrolls, florets and C-scrolls, the frame “supported” by fanciful scroll “feet.” The arched top of the mirror has an unusual feature- three carved cupped holders for additional decorative elements, one of which now holding a millinery style spray of peacock feathers. Good antique condition with areas of restoration, moderate wear, age cracks and worming, some chipping and retouch to the gilding, but retains original water gilding throughout. Lots of character.
