A central medallion with a charming hand painted polychrome underglaze decoration featuring vividly colored garden scenery with blooming trees, flowers and a bird, in traditional Dutch Delft palette of iron-red, moss green, yellow and cobalt blue
Solid cobalt blue background
Well marked at the bottom with PM monogram in underglaze blue
The signature belongs to Petrus van Meerum, aka De Romeyn (The Roman) and it could be dated to 1764
Reference: "A Manual of Marks on Pottery and Porcelain by W.H. Hooper and W.C. Phillips, NY, 1898"
