This sculptural bowl features an organic, wave-like form and substantial weight, typical of Daum’s mid-century decorative crystal production.

The piece is signed “Daum France” in cursive with the Croix de Lorraine engraved between the words, confirming authentic post-1950 Daum manufacture. The signature is diamond-point engraved, consistent with Daum workshop techniques.

Designed as both a functional bowl and a decorative object, it is well suited for use as a centerpiece, coffee-table sculpture, or console accent.

About Daum
Founded in 1878 in Nancy, Lorraine, by Jean Daum, Daum is one of the most important names in French art glass and crystal. Under the leadership of the Daum family, the factory became a central force in the Art Nouveau movement and a key member of the École de Nancy, collaborating with designers and artists such as Jacques Gruber and Henri Bergé. The Daum workshops also served as a formative training ground for future masters of French glass, including the Schneider brothers, who later established their own celebrated glassworks. Throughout the early 20th century, Daum gained international recognition for its technical innovation, particularly in acid-etched cameo glass and later in pâte de verre crystal sculpture. Today, pieces signed “Daum Nancy” or “Daum France” are regarded as collectible works of French artistic crystal, reflecting a continuous tradition of craftsmanship rooted in the cultural vitality of Nancy.
