This is a pair of antique stocking stretchers, also known as stocking airers. The wooden stretchers feature five round cutout holes designed to allow for faster drying, along with a small hole at the top fitted with string for hanging. Each stretcher bears an inset stamp reading “11” at the top of the leg, likely indicating size. Simple and utilitarian in form, these antique laundry tools reflect early garment care practice.
