superb and rare wool and silk tapestry from the beginning of the 18th century after a painting by Teniers
Very beautiful tapestry representing a village festival with dancers, pipe smokers and musicians and in the background castles and French gardens
The tapestry is signed G WernierRDL and with the Lille brand
The tapestry is lined and in superb condition and can be hung directly in an interior.
It has kept very beautiful colors with a very shimmering red and blue.
Guillaume Werniers, who had settled in Lille, died in 1738. He married the daughter of Jean de Melter, another weaver from Brussels. Guillaume Werniers took over the management of the workshop in 1700.
