In the 1930s, he worked for the UP Závody company, where he developed functional and modular furniture, accessible to as many people as possible. His distinctive style, mixing curved lines and sculptural forms, made him a staple of interwar European design. Halabala influenced the development of modernist furniture and remains a respected figure today among lovers of vintage furniture and avant-garde design.
