Made of solid cast iron, with visible gears and turned wooden handles, it was used to compress or shape sheets of metal, probably in jewelry, printing or fine manufacturing workshops. Its powerful lines, compact volumes and original patina make it a sculptural piece in its own right, full of memory and ingenuity. Main characteristics: Materials and finishes: Solid cast iron structure, equipped with a double system of solid metal cranks and turned wooden handles. Visible gears with a superb raw finish, patinated by time. The surfaces show an old, homogeneous and stabilized oxidation, giving the whole a technical and decorative character. Design: This rolling mill is an old-fashioned precision tool, with two parallel rollers driven by a set of crossed crank gears. The upper adjustment system, with a central screw, allowed the pressure to be finely adjusted. Although disused, the mechanism remains mobile, giving the piece an intact mechanical authenticity. Dimensions: Height: 38 cm, width: 70 cm, depth: 19 cm A rare piece, with a strong decorative dimension Perfect for: - Highlighting an industrial-style interior, workshop or cabinet of curiosities - Serving as a technical sculpture in a shop window, an exhibition space or a living room - Integrating an evocative decor in a gallery, a specialized flea market or a place of character This rolling mill tells the story of manual work, the transformation of materials, and the artisanal genius of an era when each machine was also a work of art.
