The original painted finish is highly distressed, presenting a soft blue overall tone with accents of red, yellow, and white that enhance its folk character. Most of the painted finish has been worn off through generations of use, resulting in much of the old wood patina exposed. A gently scalloped front edge adds a decorative touch.
